On the basis of an information exchange agreement the Netherlands may request detailed information from the Tax Departments of other countries about savings, dividends and distribution of earnings. By now such agreements have been concluded with more than 30 countries. In the first half of 2010 information exchange agreements were concluded with among others Switzerland, Hong Kong, Belize, Saint Lucia, Gibraltar, the Republic of the Marshall Islands and Liberia.
It is the aim to sign the agreements with Uruguay, Mauritius and Brunei in the second half of 2010.
